READING & OFFERTORY rota

• • This edition covers the period September, 2008 to January, 2009.
  • The next rota will be published at the beginning of December and will include information for the following three months. If you have any restrictions on your availability for this period let me know in November.
  • If you are unable to take part in a service then it is your responsibility to arrange a swap with someone.

  READINGS

  • We are using the Common Worship Calendar and Lectionary Year C
    Readings are from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible.

   

  • The services for Lent are still being planned and so the first reading may well change. Peter will contact you as necessary.
    
  • At the 9:30 service please could both readers move to the front of the church during the Gloria in Excelsis. The first reader should go straight to the lectern and the second reader should go up the south aisle and wait by the south west tower behind the server.
    In Advent and Lent, when there is no Gloria, then the readers should sit near the front so that they only have a short distance to the lectern.
    
  • Please announce the readings as written in the lectern version of the lectionary…
    ‘A reading from the book of…’ and end the readings with ‘This is the word of the Lord’.
    (There is no need to mention the chapter and verse.)
    
  • The Gospel reading is included on the sheet for your reference.

   

  INTERCESSIONS

  • Where ‘Baptisms’ appears then we will be using the form of intercessions specifically for Baptism services.
    
  • Suggestions for prayers are printed on the weekly bulletin. This is available in advance by e-mail – contact Jeff Wallis ad he will send you a copy.
