READING & OFFERTORY rota

  • This edition covers the period January to May, 2009.
  • The next rota will be published in April and will include information for the following three months. If you have any restrictions on your availability for this period let me know at the beginning of April.
  • If you are unable to take part in a service then it is your responsibility to arrange a swap with someone.
PLEASE WILL YOU TELEPHONE OR E-MAIL JEFF WALLIS BY NOON ON THE WEDNESDAY BEFORE THE SUNDAY IN QUESTION.
    Tel: HH 391923             E-Mail: jeff.wallis@ntlworld.com

READINGS

  • We are using the Common Worship Calendar and Lectionary Year B.
Readings are from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible.

  • Whilst the main morning service is at 10:00 there will only be one reading in order to finish the service around 11:00. The PCC will decide later in January whether the service time will revert back to 9:30 or stay as is. If it reverts back the second reading will be reinstated. If not, we will continue with one only.
  • Please announce the readings as written in the lectern version of the lectionary…
‘A reading from the book of…’ and end the readings with ‘This is the word of the Lord’.
(There is no need to mention the chapter and verse.)
  • Two readers are assigned for Baptism Sundays because an increasing number of families opt for a later service so fewer baptisms take place at the 9:30 service.
If there is one on a given Sunday then the second reading for that service will be dropped.
  • The Gospel reading is included on the sheet for your reference.

INTERCESSIONS

  • Where ‘Baptisms appears then we will be using the form of intercessions specifically for Baptism services.
  • Suggestions for prayers are printed on the weekly bulletin. This is available in advance by e-mail – contact Jeff Wallis ad he will send you a copy.

If you have any problems with this rota or suggestions for improving its format, please let me know.
